Dr. A Amarender Reddy currently working as Head, Design and Analysis, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, India. He completed my Ph.D. (Agricultural Economics) from ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi.

Then after, joined Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in 2001 with first posting at ICAR-IIPR, Kanpur.

From then onwards mostly engaged in research in implementation of agricultural development schemes, monitoring and evaluation of flagship schemes of the government of India in various premier institutions.

He has hands-on experience in heading the monitoring and evaluation team as Director (Monitoring and Evaluation) and development of IT systems as i/c Director ICT at National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. Earlier worked as Associate Professor (public policy) at Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, as Scientist (Economics) at ICRISAT, Hyderabad, as Senior Research Officer at Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow and also as Principal Scientist (Agricultural Economics) at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.

He worked for a short period at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi and National Council of Applied Economics research (NCAER), New Delhi in evaluating government schemes to alleviate poverty. He published more than 100 research articles with total google scholar citations of 2,480 and h-index of 26 and i10 index of 73.

He is columnist for the Financial Express, The Business Line and the Tribune.
