About Me
Amarendra Kumar, PhD, is presently working as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist in the Department of Plant Pathology, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, India. He received his MSc. and PhD degree from from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, and University of Delhi, New Delhi respectively. Dr. Kumar was awarded Junior Research Fellowship (ICAR) New Delhi, Junior Research fellowship and Senior Research fellowship (UGC), New Delhi, during his MSc and PhD program respectively. He has a decade-long career dedicated to teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate), research, and extension activities. Dr. Kumar has led more than 8 national and international research projects. His research specializations are marker assisted breeding for disease resistant in rice and management of diseases of rice. He has published several national and international research papers, review and popular articles. Dr. Kumar participated in development of five rice varieties and one linseed variety. He has presented many research papers at national and international seminars and symposia.
